When I worked in a memory care facility, a few of my residents LOVED to watch YouTube videos of babies laughing. It was like an instant, miracle mood lifter. It lifts my mood too, honestly :)
Project Lifesaver - I know Dementia Support NW can support Whatcom County residents with this program. This is a fantastic, life-saving program to help find missing persons. If your loved one has a tendency to wander, this is a great tool to have to keep them safe and find them quickly.
I came across this app recently for helping caregivers manage stress:
"We know caregivers have limited time, so this short, audio-based course includes quick and simple tools you can build right into your busy life. In just a few minutes per day, you will learn how to break unwanted stress-induced habits and integrate evidence-based self-care behaviors into your caregiving routine."
Even though this was mentioned in last month's CCF, RadioMe is something to keep checking in about! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slTGB6risss
The Good Care Group has compiled a list of assistive technology devices for helping people live well with dementia: https://www.thegoodcaregroup.com/live-in-care/dementia-care/assistive-technology-for-dementia/
These phone options might be helpful when deciding to either keep or get rid of the phone line for the person with dementia: https://www.alzstore.com/picture-memory-phone-dementia-s/1843.htm
I've never ordered from The Alzheimer's Store, but it has quite a few interesting products!
