Cecily Kaplan
Affiliate Development
Cecily's work involves outreach with community-based organizations and faith communities. She focuses on engaging them in the work of social respite, shepherding them as they open their Old Friends Club, and providing ongoing support.
She holds a certificate in Gerontology and has worked in the field of aging for over 40 years, most recently as the Director of Senior Programs and Services for the Phinney Neighborhood Association. Having just retired, Cecily wanted to continue working with and on behalf of seniors and in particular helping communities support those with dementia and their family caregivers.

Her commitment to supporting communities affected by dementia is deeply personal—her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2021 at the age of 67. In the years that followed, Charmaine and her family dedicated their lives to learning about dementia and caring for her mom, which eventually led them to the Old Friends Club in Carnation.
