Meet the Team

Bob Delf
Executive Director
With more than 42 years of experience working as a CEO, Bob serves as the Executive Director of Old Friends Club, where he has been sharing his business knowledge, expertise, and experience since 2015. From 2000–2015, he worked with MusicWorks Northwest, one of the largest nonprofit community music schools in the Pacific Northwest.  He is an alum of University of British Columbia with an undergraduate degree in Math and Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration.  Bob enjoys playing the piano, wine, and travel.

Cecily Kaplan
Affiliate Development
Cecily's work involves outreach with community-based organizations and faith communities. She focuses on engaging them in the work of social respite, shepherding them as they open their Old Friends Club, and providing ongoing support. She holds a certificate in Gerontology and has worked in the field of aging for over 40 years, most recently as the Director of Senior Programs and Services for the Phinney Neighborhood Association. Having just retired, Cecily wanted to continue working with and on behalf of seniors and in particular helping communities support those with dementia and their family caregivers. Cecily notes she has the best volunteer job as a Pen Pal writer for Pasado's Safe Haven: she writes to school children in the "voice" of one of the many saved and sheltered animals.

Ellia Harris
Community Outreach
Ellia’s role is in community outreach, identifying potential Affiliates in Western Washington. With an increasingly aging population, she believes we will see greater demand for community OFC Clubs because they offer a low-cost, rejuvenating, two-for-one solution: engaging social activities for those with dementia, and respite for their caregivers. She is delighted to be part of this movement. Ellia brings extensive fundraising and nonprofit leadership experience in the United States and the United Kingdom, including at the Alzheimer’s Association, British Lung Foundation, and Oxfam. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a certificate in business management. She has also been a provider of training and coaching in leadership and team-based creative problem-solving, an English teacher in Mexico, and a touring blues band leader in the UK.

Karen Koenig

She is an advocate by nature, with a desire to promote connected, supportive communities. Karen holds a bachelors in Community Psychology from the University of Washington, and Certificates in both Gerontology and Nonprofit Management. Charmain Vasquez

Carolyn is devoted to helping the elderly and their caregivers feel supported and connected. Her experience in this space is personal—she spent 15 years caring for her late husband, John, as he lived with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Through that journey, she came to value the critical role played by consistent support systems for families, including meaningful activities and respite for caregivers. Carolyn’s work has spanned corporate and nonprofit organizations as a founder, team member, and board leader. She is the founder and CEO of Golden Choices, where she helps seniors with the complexities of care coordination, downsizing, and home transitions. Carolyn holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Business from Seattle University. She is the mother of three and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first grandson. She and her partner, Ben, split time between Seattle and Mexico and enjoy hiking, swimming, travel and a competitive game of Bananagrams!
